Commencement at Mount Ida College

Commencement is a time-honored tradition at Mount Ida College that offers you, your family and the entire Mount Ida community a momentous celebration that acknowledges your success, along with the collective success of your fellow graduates. It also marks the beginning of your promising future.

Typically held in May, the commencement ceremony takes place on campus under a magnificent white tent with a program filled with music, recognition and sage words from your distinguished commencement speaker and honorary degree recipients.

Leading up to commencement is Senior Week, an exciting program of academic and social events for you and your fellow graduates to celebrate the end of one journey and beginning of another as Mount Ida alumni.

On May 16, 2014, Mount Ida College celebrated the graduation of 325 undergraduate and graduate members of the Class of 2014 and presented honorary degrees to U.S Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy III, first-term Congressman from the 4th District of Massachusetts; Sarah-Ann Shaw, Boston’s first African American female broadcast journalist and a prominent civil rights activist; and Steven H. Wright, who is currently the executive partner overseeing the management of Holland & Knight’s Boston office.
