Welcome Back Mustangs!

On Tuesday, January 16, Mount Ida College welcomed more than 1,500 students for the 2018 spring semester. The prior day, students got settled into the residence halls, with 60 percent of the student body residing on campus. While returning students were fully prepared to commence classes and activities, Mount Ida welcomed a number of new students who are beginning their college career, starting with orientation sessions designed to quickly acclimate them to their new surroundings, faculty and staff, and expectations for coursework and campus life.

At the same time, 75 students began the semester off-campus—some quite far away through our Study Abroad program. This spring, Mount Ida students are off to seven countries, where they will not only attend classes but also learn about the culture of their chosen location through day-to-day life. Our Veterinary Technology students are learning and living in Belize and Costa Rica, while Sports Management majors are in Peru. Applied Science majors are studying in Thailand, Education majors in Ireland, Graphic Design majors in Germany, and Game Art and Animation majors in Japan. We are confident our travelers will find their study abroad experience to be one of a lifetime.
